Zone 2

Howling Sands

Arid dunes, canyons and oasis pockets on the second land plate.

Also called Zone 2, the desert plate in official posts.

Zone 2 is the arid plate in the original four-zone concept art and worldgen introduction. Official posts describe dunes and canyon country with their own blocks, furniture set, and creatures.

Scarak hives and Cactees are the names most consistently attached to this plate in studio writing and media. Treat those as peoples and wildlife of the sands — not as a complete spawn list.

Exact ore rates, temple floor counts, and heat-damage numbers are not on a public official datasheet. This atlas stops at climate, named cultures, and what the studio has shown.

Howling Sands in Hytale

Howling Sands (Zone 2) is a Codexgames atlas plate for Hytale: a short climate reading, official art where we have it, and a list of notable peoples only when those names appear in studio posts for this land. Use it as orientation before you browse items or mobs that belong to the same chapter of Orbis.

If a later patch renames the plate or splits it, we follow the official language instead of keeping a fan atlas that no longer matches the blog.

Is Howling Sands an official zone?

Yes. Zone 2 is filed from Hypixel Studios worldgen and zone writing. The desert chapter of Orbis. Official Zone 2 coverage emphasises sand, insectoid Scaraks, and cactus-folk rather than a finished dungeon spreadsheet.
