Hytale

World of Orbis

Orbis is the planet where most of Hytale’s story is supposed to take place: authored zones, a generator that should feel hand-made, portal dungeons, and other worlds beyond the first map. This primer stays with official 2026 language instead of inventing a finished cosmology chart.

Orbis

Official worldgen writing calls Orbis the planet where the bulk of Hytale’s story takes place. It is split into zones, each with its own blocks, furniture, NPC cultures, creatures, plants, weather and geology. Concept art for the four land plates is one of the first images the studio produced.

Prefabs — thousands of hand-built blueprints — scatter through generated terrain: trees, ruins, dungeons, one-off encounters. Portal dungeons are instanced spaces with their own rules; early examples named on the blog include the Temple of Gaia and the Garden of Elements.

Generation, twice

Early Access Exploration currently uses World Gen V1. V2 has been in development to restore a content-complete Orbis with more designer control and a live node editor for creators. Until that default spawn lands, players can peek at V2 fragments through Ancient Gateways — temporary worlds the launch-era 2026 posts call Fragments of Orbis, while the live map is Echoes of Orbis.

Those names are official 2026 language. Treat them as a work in progress, not a finished cosmology chart.

Other worlds

The official media library includes concept art titled for Alterverses — other spaces beyond the first planet. Simon’s 2026 world-generation note is plainer: beyond Orbis the studio plans to explore alternate worlds, new dimensions and different spaces, with room for new blocks, NPCs, quests and systems. Not every concept ships.

This journal uses “other worlds” for that idea. We do not invent a dimension list or a portal crafting tree.
